Distell takes on Lucet Mundi

Distell International has been appointed the Australia and New Zealand distributor for Lucet Mundi personalised jewellery.

Distell International director Albert Grech said he approached the London-based company about distributing the brand internationally after seeing it advertised in a UK jewellery magazine.

After securing the distributorship in June, Distell began importing sample ranges into Australia “about six weeks ago” and has since appointed several agents to cover all states and territories as well as a distributor in New Zealand.

“The brand and product has been so successful in the UK that we anticipate that the local market will be the same as we have the same sort of customer here,” said Grech.

Featuring interchangeable lockets, ‘coins’ and chains, Lucet Mundi is “generally aimed at the fashion-minded women who like the flexibility of changing the designs at any time”.

Grech said full branding support will be provided for retailers with ‘starter kits’ that include a window display stand, customer and in-store catalogues, and packaging boxes and pouches.

“It is early days as far as sales go but we have had only positive reactions to initial viewings,” he said.

“We have shown the launch range to the buying groups with favourable results and it will soon be available in Inflight Duty Free on certain airlines internationally.”

Distell will also be launching Lucet Mundi to its international clients at the Bangkok Gems & Jewellery Fair in September.
