New York is the venue for a US$20 million pink and blue diamond jewellery showcase, inspired by Rio Tinto’s 2016 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender collection. JFine, a New York based boutique owned by Argyle Pink Diamonds Authorised Partner Jordan Fine has been at the forefront of developing limited-edition Argyle pink diamond jewellery collections.


Among the limited-edition jewellery collection is The Divine Lotus, a US$1 million statement ring. The exquisite piece features a 2015 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender, center set 1.45 carat pink diamond. New York is part of the 2016 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender global showcase. Named the “Chroma Collection” for is huge spectrum of colour, this collection features the finest one-of-a-kind rare pink, red and violet diamonds from Rio Tinto’s Argyle Diamond Mine. According to Jordan Fine, inspiration came from Argyle pink diamonds from Australia, the most celebrated of colour diamonds. They worked closely with a network of nine luxury Argyle Pink Diamond’s Select Ateliers ™ in the US.


The US market importance to Rio Tinto’s Argyle Pink Diamonds business comes from their rare fancy colour diamond collector’s market and the fine jewelry collections, making them the world’s largest retail diamond jewellery market.


“New York is the epicentre of rare and collectible diamonds and the incomparability of this year’s Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender offering is driving strong interest,” Argyle Pink Diamonds Manager Josephine Johnson said. The array of the 2016 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender diamond collection contains 57 pink diamonds, two violet diamonds, and four red diamonds, all weighing 58.24 carats and includes The Argyle Violet, the largest violet diamond found in the Argyle mine, weighing 2.83-carats.


Besides The Argyle Violet, the collection includes four other “hero” diamonds selected for their beauty. They were named to give them a permanent record of their contribution to the history of the world’s most important diamonds.

  • Lot 4: Argyle Thea™, 2.24 carat Fancy Vivid Purplish Pink radiant
  • Lot 5: Argyle Aria™, 1.09 carat Fancy Red oval

Following its exclusive preview in Copenhagen, the 2016 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender is being showcased during invitation-only viewings in Hong Kong, New York, London and Perth. Bids will close on 12 October.
