New Zealand gears up for 2 fairs, again

Auckland is set to host two international jewellery fairs at the “same time” for the second year in a row this weekend.
Expertise Events’ second New Zealand Jewellery Fair will be held at the ASB Showgrounds on September 25-26 while the 16th annual JWNZ Trade Fair will be held at the nearby Ellerslie Convention Centre on September 26-27.
Expertise Events managing director Gary Fitz-Roy said the NZJF will feature around 45 exhibitors including first-timer Thomas Sabo who will “join internationally-recognised brands Pandora, Guess, Pilgrim, Edge of Sweden and Victorinox” which exhibited at last year’s event.
“Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Jewellery Fair, the NZ JF is back in 2010 to deliver an invaluable industry resource,” he said.
“We know there is a growing market need in New Zealand for an event which delivers on the promise of content, experience and value-add features – the NZJF does just that,” he said.
JWNZ’s executive secretary Craig Anderson said the JWNZ will have 78 exhibitors this year.
He said the “continued solid support” of exhibitors and visitors ensured that the 2010 Fair was “set for success”.
The NZJF and JWNZ attracted around 700 visitors each last year.
Visitor registration is available online at www.nzjewelleryfair.co.nz and www.jwnz.co.nz
