Just three months after the opening of Seiko’s first boutique in the US, the Citizen Watch Company has opened its first US flagship store. Located at 1500 Broadway in New York’s Times Square, the 120-square-metre store feature a full range of watches from the brand’s Eco-Drive, DRIVE from Citizen Eco-Drive, and Signature collections. Citizen CEO and president, Toshio Tokura, said that the opening of the flagship will maximise the brand’s visibility with the over 39 million tourists, travellers, commuters, and local New Yorkers that walk through Times Square each year.

“As a truly global brand Citizen Watch Company represents people from throughout the world, so there is no better place than Times Square to share our international brand message.”

He said the store is designed to appeal to amateur and serious watch enthusiasts alike.

“It will serve as a world-class showcase for the Citizen watch brand with state-of-the-art interactive and hands-on displays and exclusive offerings, as well as knowledgeable staff members who will be well versed in the art and science of creating watches that reflect the best of design and Citizen’s own technologies.

“We expect that this store will be the place that enables more consumers to touch our brand and know more about our products and stories.”

Tokura added that the brand, which currently has more than 100 retail stores around the globe, may open “other flagship stores in prominent international cities”.
